In re-envisioning Kyuramen’s Indianapolis location, we interpreted the design through the franchise’s distinctly recognizable architectural language of honeycomb seating façades and integrated stairways. To give the space its own character, we layered in custom touches: a section of private booths enclosed by traditional Japanese noren curtains offers guests moments of seclusion while preserving the lively, semi-casual rhythm of the dining floor.

At the heart of the space, a repainted Torii gate stands as both symbolic threshold and visual centerpiece. Positioned for visibility, it also functions as a photo backdrop, inviting guests to share their experience and amplifying the restaurant’s social reach.

The balance of casual accessibility and handcrafted detail reflects Kyuramen’s culinary ethos: a menu rooted in the slow, precise craft of long-simmered broths. The result is a dining environment that feels instantly recognizable yet unmistakably unique.
